I’m a 74 year active old male who has fought the battle of the bulge for all my adult life. My issue has been a low metabolism which is of the genetic type I have always been able to keep in somewhat in control with just diet. Slowly though I have gained weight over the years to a range no of 250 to 260 lbs.
I started MVP’s program in April of this year at the Suggestion of my physical therapist at Grand Strand where I was undergoing core strengthening for back issues relating to my golf swing. At the conclusion of my prescription my therapist made the suggestion was that I find a personal trainer who would continue the work that he had started and recommended MVP among others. MVP was the closest to me and quite handy.
When I met Mark he came across as quite knowledgeable and professional. His training studio was neat and clean and I explained to him that I was not looking to bulk up (Like a 74 year old could) but was looking to strengthen my core so I could prolong my golfing career a few more years before meeting the orthopedic surgeon to fuse my back. We talked a little bit and would try a twice a week regimen.
Not only did I meet my objective of no lower back pain which seems to be non-existent after a round but all of a sudden my low carbohydrate diet took hold and I began to drop weight. Now 30+ pounds in 9 months and realize that his program of 30 minutes twice a week exercise triggered my metabolism also.
My friends are now telling me that I look good or asking how I have lost weight? Their comments have motivated me to continue my training with Mark and I do enjoy it. It’s hard to believe that just getting up in the morning and meeting Mark for my resistance training sessions have had such a change in my life and outlook.
