I have suffered with thyroid disease and an autoimmune disease for over 3 years. While I was being treated, I gained over 40 lbs and had to limit exercise due to a rapid heart beat. I was sinking into depression and was stressed beyond belief. Once I was cleared from my doctor after radiation treatment, a friend invited me to join her at MVP Training Studio for a trial week.
I had marveled at her results but after hearing her stories about the classes I was concerned I would be fit enough to even make it through one class. Mark allowed me to attend classes for a week for free just to check it out so I figured I didn’t have much to lose.
I attended 3-30 minute classes that week even though it was super hard, and I was more sore than I had been in a long time, I was hooked. The upbeat music, varied interval exercises and great instruction from Mark made me believe that this was something I could do long term. Since that first week, I have been a regular attending a minimum of 3 – 4 classes a week.
After 15 weeks, I am honestly in the best shape of my life! I have loads of energy, more stamina and endurance than I ever had and have lost 6 inches overall. Having no thyroid function and having to supplement with hormone medication, I was fearful that I was doomed to be overweight for the rest of my life. I no longer worry about that. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. And it is true what they say, don’t pay attention to the scale, it’s just numbers.
I am down 2 dress sizes even though I have only lost 3 pounds. And my most recent check up revealed a wonderful resting heart rate and my doc even had to lower the dosage of my medication since it is based on body mass. My stress level is super low. You would be surprised how much better you feel after working out for 30 minutes.
I look forward to the classes and have met some wonderful people who I enjoy working out with. Mark always shows us the proper technique for each exercise before we do it and is quick to advise us on how to modify them to fit our ability. He encourages us to push ourselves and praises us for our hard work.
I just can’t say enough good things about MVP Training Studio and the program they offer. Looking forward to what the next 3 months of progress looks like!
